Our Building The House Story

As everyone knows, Jenn and I are awful at desicions, so this building a house process should be fun and interesting! Learning Process! A time to grow together! To bond!

For anyone that knows us, we are notorioulsy awful at desicions. We spent days..weeks..months..on the internet looking for a house design.....found nothing.....then, would you believe that we sat down one night this summer and roughly drew our house in less than 2 hours and both loved the layout. Perfect!

Next was deciding exactly where to build this dream house. Again we spent days..weeks..months..and even got Sue and Ron very involved..god bless their patience. In the end we decided on the Drunken Irishman, which also happens to be the spot where I asked Jenn to marry me....ok....now everyone together...AHHHHH.

Over the past few weeks we have begun clearing the land at Drunken Irishman for our future house. Very exciting! Its called Drunken Irishman because of the beautiful rock walls everywhere, in all directions. The story is that a bunch of drunken irishmen built them.

We are fortunate to be able to utilize Chris's expertise (Jenn's brother) and his insatiable appetite for working his excavator. So Jenn and I, with the help of Chris, have begun clearing the land. I bought my first chainsaw and have been cutting up everything, but the most fun is driving the excavator, digging holes and pushing over trees.
